Unleashing Creativity at the Memik Summer Camp

The Memik Summer Camp, powered by Time 2 Give and Memik, transformed Atlanta's high schoolers into tech-savvy marketers. Over six weeks, students immersed in AR technology, crafted marketing campaigns, and pitched to real clients, shaping them into the innovative marketers of tomorrow.

Last year’s Memik Summer Camp, a creative haven for tech enthusiasts, marked another successful collaboration between Time 2 Give and Memik, supported by the City of Atlanta. This six-week adventure was more than just a camp—it was a launchpad for high school students across Atlanta to catapult into the realms of business, marketing, and advanced technology.

 

The camp’s curriculum was meticulously crafted to navigate through the ever-evolving landscape of augmented reality (AR) marketing. Students embarked on an immersive journey, learning the intricacies of AR technology, effective marketing strategies, brand storytelling, and the art of pitching ideas that resonate.

Week by Week, Innovation Unfolded

Week 1 kicked off with AR Technology 101, delving deep into marketing tech, and culminating in students laying the foundation stones for their own companies, complete with distinctive branding strategies.

Week 2 saw the young creatives meeting real clients, sharpening their skills in marketing AR technology, and pitching their first campaigns, interspersed with a field trip to the Trap Museum for a practical take on creating immersive experiences.

As the weeks progressed, students honed their skills in motion capture and character creation (Week 3), explored AR environments and prop utilization (Week 4), and discovered the nuances of brand partnerships and storytelling (Week 5).

The final week, Week 6, was a crescendo of all their learning—networking with clients and delivering polished, final pitches that could very well be the blueprint for the next big marketing campaign.

Throughout the summer, participants grew in confidence and ability, turning theories into tangible concepts. They went from students to creators, from learners to innovators.
